Presidium SDS II Synthetic Diamond Screener

Presidium’s Synthetic Diamond Screener II (SDS II) is a portable desktop diamond verification instrument developed to help screen out Type IIa colourless diamonds from Type Ia colourless diamonds. It is suitable for both loose and mounted stones (with an open-back setting), including melees as small as 0.02ct.

The Presidium’s Synthetic Diamond Screener II (SDS II) uses advanced technology that measures a diamond’s UV light transmittance ability. Easy to use and battery-operated, its indicator light bars give a blue light to indicate that the stone is a natural Type la colourless diamond and red light to indicate a Type IIa colourless diamond, which is likely to be laboratory-grown and created through chemical vapour deposition (CVD) or high-pressure high temperature (HPHT) syntheses. The device gives clear and accurate results within two seconds.
